IRT Taskforce on Innovations

Date has been fixed for the next meeting of the IRT Task Force on Innovations.

The meeting will take place on the first day of the Moscow international forum for innovative development – OPEN INNOVATIONS, i.e. on October 31, 2012, at the Forum venue Moscow, Expocentre.

The meeting will concentrate on Formation of a Common EU-Russia Technology Market and will therefore analyze the following issues:

  • What are the major barriers for EU-Russia technology transfer? What WTO mechanisms can be invoked to overcome these barriers? What additional measures should be taken in Russia and the EU?
  • Intellectual property rights protection is crucial for successful technology transfer. What intellectual property risks face Russian companies in the EU and European companies in Russia? What steps should be taken to minimize these risks?
  • Differences in technical standards and regulations work as important non-tariff trade barriers and obstacles for technological cooperation. How can the EU and Russia move toward the harmonization/unification of technical standards? What standards should be harmonized/unified in the first place? What should be done by the new Russian government, the CES Commission, and the European Commission in this field?
  • How can long-standing technological partnerships between European and Russian companies be promoted to develop new products for Russian and/or CES and/or European markets? What incentives should be provided to promote such partnerships?

The meeting will be presided by the Task Force Co-Chairmen Messrs Bosco Novak (NokiaSiemensNetworks) & Sergey Boyev (RTI Sistema).

Participation is by invitation only.

Participation requests and inquiries should be sent to TFI@irt-rus.org
